Outreach

The Petero Civoniveva Foundation host an annual Christmas Party at St Mina’s Orphanage and Treasure House Orphanage to encourage children to get active with a series of fun and interactive festive games. Each child receives a present suitable for their age and gender.

Other outreach programmes the Foundation has initiated is to support communities affected by Cyclone Winston in 2016. The Petero Civoniceva Foundation travelled to the areas most severely damaged by the cyclone to deliver school supplies with the aim of alleviating the financial burden for families having to rebuild their homes. The Foundation delivered 459 school bags, containing a pencil case, pencil, workbook and story book, to the children of Rakiraki District School, Navatu Primary School and Naria Primary School.

The Foundation has also delivered a Dignity Project at several orphanages across Fiji. This new initiative was created to remove barriers and encourage teenage girls to engage in physical activity. After consulting with the staff and carers at the orphanage and determining one of the causes this project allowed us to create packs containing shampoos, conditioners, soaps, nail polish, feminine products, hair brush and accessories and sewing kits.

The Foundation has also been able to offer new baby clothing donated from the UK for new mums at the Nadi Hospital.

The Foundation regularly receives packs of donations from overseas and helps to facilitate these donations to groups and communities most in need. We have helped establish children’s sports teams by providing a community with a full kit and appropriate footwear to play sport.
