Female Particpation

The Petero Civoniveva Foundation is committed to providing inclusive sport opportunities. The Foundation introduced a Petero's Tag Rugby programme to Fiji as a way of encouraging girls and boys to play together. The programme was designed for primary years 4 and 5 to offer an all-inclusive activity and was delivered throughout Fiji.

The Foundation has delivered its Street Cheer Fiji initiative with classes in both Suva and Nadi. Street Cheer Fiji was initially set up as a way of encouraging more females, especially teenagers, to engage in physical activity. The squads consisted of over 50 participants and have performed at numerous events including the Hibiscus Festival, the FNRL Grand Final, the Dash for Diabetes and the Suva Netball Festival. Lauren Jagger, co-founder of the Petero Civoniceva Foundation, heads up Street Cheer Fiji and also choreographed the cheerleading routine for Adi Cakobau School at the 2019 Coca-Cola Games.

In 2019 the Foundation delivered a female touch footy competition in conjunction with the Nadi Touch Rugby Association. The teams played in a full day competition which saw over 60 participants take part.
