The Petero Civoniceva Foundation released a children’s book which has been donated to schools, hospitals and libraries throughout Fiji. Written by the Foundation’s Co-Founder Lauren Jagger and illustrated by local artist Anare Somumu, “The Fijian Hero” tells the story of Petero Civoniceva’s life and celebrates his illustrious career.

The book promotes Petero as a role model whilst also encouraging young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Key messages of the book are sportsmanship, teamwork, communication and leadership - all key characteristics Petero demonstrated in his sporting career and transferable to all walks of life.

The Foundation has donated more than 1000 copies of “The Fijian Hero” to schools across Viti Levu. 30 copies were donated to the Suva City Carnegie Library, the library serves the whole of Central and Eastern Suva. Also receiving donations were schools and kindergartens on the remote island of Koro, Suva CWM Hospital, Levuka Reading room and Dilkusha Orphanage.
