Chris brings extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the sports charity sector, having worked with some of the UK’s largest sport-for-development organisations across multiple sporting codes. His work has focused on using sport as a tool for social impact, community engagement, and youth development, with responsibility for programme design, delivery, partnerships, and organisational leadership.
His career spans multiple international contexts, including professional experience in Asia and Australia, alongside more than a decade of on-the-ground experience in Fiji, providing him with a strong understanding of cross-cultural delivery and community-led development.
The Foundation was established during his tenure as Team Liaison Officer for Fiji at the Rugby League World Cup, where he supported the national team during a landmark campaign. This experience directly informed the Foundation’s vision of leveraging sport to create sustainable community impact.
Chris holds a BA (Hons) in Sports Management and a range of recognised sports coaching qualifications, underpinning his practical experience with strong academic and technical foundations.
Petero Civoniceva is one of the most highly respected figures in international sport, widely recognised for his leadership, professionalism, and integrity throughout an exceptional playing career at the highest level.
Over many years competing in elite professional competitions and representative sport, Petero earned a reputation as a trusted leader and role model, including serving as team captain at both club and international levels. He concluded his international career by captaining his country of birth on the global stage, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to representing his heritage with pride and dignity.
In recognition of his contribution to sport, Petero has received numerous honours, including induction into a national hall of fame. His career is defined not only by success on the field, but by the values he consistently demonstrated — respect, discipline, teamwork, and service to others.

Lauren is a qualified physical education teacher with extensive experience in sport-for-development and community-based programme delivery. She holds degrees from UK universities and relocated to Fiji over a decade ago to co-found the Petero Civoniceva Foundation, where she played a central role in shaping its community impact.
Lauren is currently Travel Consultant with Petero's Sports Tours and leverages her strong communication, planning and group-management skills to engage and support educational tour groups.
