The Foundation is committed to expanding access to inclusive sporting opportunities, with a strong focus on increasing participation among girls and young women. Programmes are designed to remove barriers to engagement and promote mixed-gender and girls-focused activities that encourage confidence, teamwork, and lifelong participation in sport.
The Foundation delivers inclusive physical activity initiatives within school and community settings, creating safe and supportive environments where young people of all abilities can participate. Particular emphasis is placed on engaging girls at primary and secondary school levels, where participation rates traditionally decline.
Through community-based performance and movement programmes, the Foundation provides alternative pathways for young people to engage in sport, physical activity, and creative expression, while increasing visibility and recognition of girls’ participation at public events.
The Foundation also supports the establishment of girls’ teams across multiple sports, enabling participation in organised competitions and fostering pathways for skill development, leadership, and progression within sport.
In partnership with schools and community organisations, the Foundation facilitates exchanges, clinics, tournaments, and showcase events that bring together young women from different regions. These initiatives promote aspiration, cross-community connection, and equitable access to high-quality sporting experiences.
Collectively, these activities contribute to strengthening girls’ sport in Fiji by increasing participation, building confidence, and creating sustainable pathways for future development.
